Ipamorelin

Ipamorelin, a selective secretagogue

Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide, five amino acids long, that belongs to the growth hormone secretagogue family. It acts on the ghrelin receptor (also called GHS-R1a), the same receptor targeted by GHRP-6 and by the stomach hormone ghrelin. Its sequence includes non-standard residues, including aminoisobutyric acid and D-configured amino acids, that were chosen during its design to improve stability and selectivity.

Why selectivity matters to researchers

Earlier secretagogues such as GHRP-6 were found in animal studies to raise not only growth hormone but also other pituitary and adrenal hormones. Ipamorelin was reported to be more selective for growth hormone release in those comparisons, which made it useful as a cleaner tool for isolating the ghrelin-receptor pathway. It has been examined in rodent models of growth hormone pulsatility, bone and gut motility. It has also been used in receptor-pharmacology work comparing peptide and non-peptide agonists at the ghrelin receptor.

Common pairings in study design

Because it works through a different receptor from GHRH analogs, ipamorelin is often studied together with CJC-1295 without DAC or sermorelin to explore how the two pathways interact. Pairing a ghrelin-receptor agonist with a GHRH-receptor agonist is a classic design in pituitary research.

The ipamorelin vial

This page lists one product: a lyophilized ipamorelin vial. The option selector shows the strengths available, and the label states the peptide content per vial. It is a good habit to record each vial’s content and lot in the notebook before reconstitution begins.

Linking lot and COA

Find the lot on your vial, then check for its certificate of analysis in COA / Lab Reports and confirm that the compound, strength and lot all agree. Certificates are being uploaded steadily. Write to support with the product and lot if you need one sooner than it is posted.

Ipamorelin is sold for research purposes only.
