GHRP-6

GHRP-6 and the ghrelin receptor

GHRP-6 (growth hormone-releasing peptide-6) is a synthetic hexapeptide, six residues long, developed in the early 1980s. It was one of the first compounds shown to trigger growth hormone release through a receptor separate from GHRH, which later turned out to be the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a). Its discovery came before ghrelin itself was identified, so it played a role in mapping that whole pathway.

Structure

The sequence contains two D-amino acids, D-tryptophan and D-phenylalanine, which help it resist enzymatic breakdown. Its sequence is His-D-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2. The C-terminal amide is part of the design as well.

Areas of investigation

GHRP-6 has been used in animal and cell studies of growth hormone secretion, appetite signaling through the ghrelin system, and in experimental models of tissue protection. Because it also influences prolactin and cortisol in some models, it is often compared with more selective secretagogues such as ipamorelin. That contrast is a standard part of the secretagogue literature. Investigators have also used GHRP-6 to probe ghrelin-related food-intake signaling, since it engages the same receptor that ghrelin uses to signal hunger in rodent models.

What the grid offers

GHRP-6 is listed as a lyophilized vial. Each label shows content per vial, and the listing describes the format in full. Labs that want to compare secretagogues can find ipamorelin in the catalog, and those comparing it with GHRH-axis peptides can look at CJC-1295 without DAC or sermorelin.

Documentation

Use the printed lot number to locate this vial’s certificate of analysis within the COA / Lab Reports collection. Reports are being added as testing is completed for each batch. When a certificate is not yet visible, our support address can help if you send the product, quantity and lot.

GHRP-6 is offered for controlled laboratory research only.
