SLU-PP-332

SLU-PP-332 in context

SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic small molecule, not a peptide. It was developed at Saint Louis University (the “SLU” in its name) as an agonist of the estrogen-related receptors, or ERRs. Despite the name, ERRs do not bind estrogen; they are orphan nuclear receptors that help control genes for mitochondrial energy production and fatty-acid oxidation. SLU-PP-332 is reported to act on ERR-alpha in particular, with activity across the other subtypes.

A research tool for energy metabolism

ERR-alpha is one of the transcription factors that rises in skeletal muscle during endurance exercise. Researchers have therefore used SLU-PP-332 in mouse models and muscle-cell culture to study whether activating this receptor reproduces parts of the exercise response, including mitochondrial gene expression and changes in muscle fiber type. The term “exercise mimetic” appears in this literature. Work so far is preclinical and comes mainly from a small number of laboratories. Independent replication would strengthen the picture. Its effects have also been compared with genetic models in which ERR expression is altered.

Format offered

The grid shows SLU-PP-332 capsules. The quantity per capsule is given in micrograms on the label, together with the number of capsules in each container. For a compound used in very small amounts, pre-weighed capsules help keep each unit consistent and reduce the handling of fine powder.

Related small molecules

Other non-peptide research compounds in the Resolve catalog include BAM15, a mitochondrial uncoupler, and 5-Amino-1MQ, an NNMT inhibitor. Both appear in metabolism research, though through different mechanisms.

Certificates

Take the lot code from your capsule container and find its COA, filed under COA / Lab Reports. Reports go up as each lot clears testing, and support can assist if yours is not yet listed. Check that the per-capsule amount on the report matches the label, since quantities this small leave little margin.

SLU-PP-332 is intended for laboratory research only, in vitro or otherwise under controlled conditions.
