TESOFENSINE
A small molecule, not a peptide
Tesofensine is a synthetic small-molecule compound that sits apart from most of the Resolve catalog. It is classed as a triple monoamine reuptake inhibitor, meaning it was designed to block the transporters that clear three neurotransmitters from the synapse: serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine. It was first developed in the context of neurodegenerative-disease research before attention shifted to other areas.
In the literature
Tesofensine has been examined in rodent models looking at feeding behavior, energy expenditure and neurotransmitter signaling, and in pharmacology studies of transporter binding. Research groups interested in how monoamine systems interact with metabolism have used it as a tool compound. Published findings should be read with attention to species, model and study length, since results in those settings vary. It is also of interest as a comparison point for single- and dual-target reuptake inhibitors, letting labs ask what changes when all three transporters are blocked at once.
The capsule listing
Resolve offers tesofensine as capsules. Each capsule holds a fixed amount of the compound, and the label lists both the per-capsule quantity and the number of capsules per container. Because tesofensine is active in very small amounts, the per-capsule figure is given in micrograms; read it carefully when planning calculations.
Why capsules here
For a small molecule that is weighed in micrograms, pre-measured capsules reduce the burden of handling tiny quantities of powder and help keep each unit consistent from container to container.
Documentation
Check the lot code on your capsule container against its certificate of analysis. Those certificates are collected under COA / Lab Reports, where they are being uploaded batch by batch. If a lot is not listed yet, reach out with the product name and lot number and we will respond.
Tesofensine is supplied for research purposes only and is not for human consumption.
