Kisspeptin-10
Kisspeptin-10: The active core
Kisspeptins are a family of peptides produced from the KISS1 gene. The longest form is 54 amino acids, but the shortest, kisspeptin-10, carries the ten C-terminal residues that are sufficient to activate the kisspeptin receptor, KISS1R (also called GPR54). Its sequence is Tyr-Asn-Trp-Asn-Ser-Phe-Gly-Leu-Arg-Phe-NH2, ending in the amidated arginine-phenylalanine motif typical of RF-amide peptides.
Why it matters in endocrine research
Kisspeptin signaling sits upstream of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) neurons in the hypothalamus, making it a central regulator of the reproductive hormone axis. Kisspeptin-10 has been studied in animal models of puberty onset, GnRH and luteinizing hormone pulsatility, and in hypothalamic cell work. The KISS1 gene was originally identified in cancer-cell research as a metastasis suppressor, and that line of study continues alongside the endocrine work. Researchers have also compared kisspeptin-10 with the longer isoforms to see whether peptide length affects potency or duration at KISS1R. Interest in the system has grown steadily since its role in reproduction was recognized in the early 2000s, and new questions keep arising.
Strengths in the grid
Kisspeptin-10 is offered as a single lyophilized vial listing, with strengths in the option selector. The label shows the amount per vial so stock-solution calculations begin from a defined number. Labs running repeated hormone-pulse experiments often prefer the larger strength so one lot covers a whole series.
Storage reminder
Keep freeze-dried vials cool, dry and protected from light, and log the date a vial is reconstituted. Tryptophan-containing peptides can be sensitive to oxidation.
Lot and COA
The lot number printed on each kisspeptin-10 vial corresponds to one certificate of analysis inside COA / Lab Reports. We are publishing certificates as they become ready. In the meantime, support can confirm a lot if you send the product, quantity and lot code together.
Kisspeptin-10 is sold for laboratory research and nothing else.
