Description
KPV is a three-amino-acid peptide — lysine, proline, valine — that corresponds to the final three residues of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Resolve BioLabs supplies KPV as a 10 mg lyophilized research vial.
What is KPV?
α-MSH is a 13-amino-acid hormone with well-known roles in pigmentation and immune signalling. Researchers found that much of its anti-inflammatory activity in laboratory models could be reproduced by its last three amino acids alone, which made KPV an attractive small tool compound: it is inexpensive to synthesise and does not act on the melanocortin receptors responsible for pigmentation in the same way α-MSH does.

Research background
Published KPV work is mainly in cell and animal models of inflammation — especially intestinal inflammation (colitis models), where it has been studied for uptake through the PepT1 transporter in gut epithelial cells, and skin models. Studies look at effects on NF-κB signalling and inflammatory cytokine production. Human clinical data is minimal.
Format, storage and handling
Keep the unopened vial sealed and protected from light and moisture. Follow the temperature instructions on the product label. After preparing a solution, follow your laboratory’s validated storage protocol.
Testing and documentation
Available reports describe the samples tested. Match the compound, format, strength and lot identifier with your supplied label; a supplier report does not by itself verify current stock. See the report library.
Related research compounds
KPV is also a component of the KLOW peptide blend (10 mg KPV with GHK-Cu, BPC-157 and TB-500). Related: BPC-157, GHK-Cu. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water.
KPV FAQ
What does KPV stand for?
It is the one-letter amino-acid code for its sequence: lysine (K), proline (P), valine (V).
Is KPV the same as alpha-MSH?
No. KPV is only the last three amino acids of the 13-residue α-MSH hormone.
Is KPV in any blends?
Yes, it is the fourth component of the KLOW blend.
