Description
Orforglipron (LY3502970) is an investigational GLP-1 receptor agonist that is a small molecule rather than a peptide, which is why it can be studied in oral form without the special absorption enhancers peptide pills need. Resolve BioLabs supplies orforglipron as 6 mg capsules, 60 per bottle.
What is Orforglipron?
Orforglipron was discovered by Chugai Pharmaceutical and licensed to Eli Lilly. Every approved GLP-1 agonist to date has been a peptide; orforglipron activates the same receptor with a non-peptide structure, which makes it stable in the gut and removes food and water restrictions associated with oral peptide formulations. It is in late-stage clinical development (the ACHIEVE and ATTAIN programs) and is not FDA approved.

Research background
A Phase 2 obesity study of orforglipron was published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2023 (Wharton et al.), and Phase 3 results have since been reported by Lilly. Research interest focuses on how a non-peptide agonist engages the GLP-1 receptor (it binds a different pocket than peptide agonists and shows biased signalling), and on comparisons with injectable incretin compounds such as GLP-3.

Testing and documentation
Available reports describe the samples tested. Match the compound, format, strength and lot identifier with your supplied label; a supplier report does not by itself verify current stock. See the report library.

Orforglipron FAQ
Is orforglipron a peptide?
No. It is a small molecule that activates the GLP-1 receptor, which is why it is suited to oral formulations.
How is orforglipron different from oral peptide GLP-1 agonists?
Oral peptide GLP-1 agonists need an absorption enhancer and fasting conditions; orforglipron is a non-peptide and does not.
Is orforglipron approved?
Not at the time of writing. It is sold here for laboratory research only.
