Description
BAM15 is a synthetic small molecule that acts as a mitochondrial uncoupler: it lets protons leak back across the inner mitochondrial membrane, so cells burn more fuel to produce the same energy. Resolve BioLabs supplies BAM15 as 50 mg capsules, 60 per bottle.
What is BAM15 Capsules?
Despite being listed among peptides, BAM15 is not a peptide — it is an oxadiazolopyrazine compound with a molecular weight of about 340. It was identified in 2014 (Kenwood et al., Molecular Metabolism) as an uncoupler that acts on mitochondria without depolarising the outer cell membrane, which distinguished it from older uncouplers such as 2,4-dinitrophenol (DNP) in cell studies.

Research background
In mouse studies, BAM15 raised energy expenditure and reduced fat mass in diet-induced obesity models without reducing food intake, and improved insulin sensitivity (Axelrod et al., 2020, Nature Communications). It is also studied in sepsis and kidney-injury models. There are no human clinical trials.

Testing and documentation
Available reports describe the samples tested. Match the compound, format, strength and lot identifier with your supplied label; a supplier report does not by itself verify current stock. See the report library.

BAM15 Capsules FAQ
Is BAM15 a peptide?
No. BAM15 is a small molecule. It is sold alongside peptides because it is used in similar metabolic research.
What is a mitochondrial uncoupler?
A compound that lets protons bypass ATP synthase, so mitochondria consume more fuel and release more energy as heat.
How is BAM15 different from DNP?
In cell studies BAM15 acted on mitochondria without depolarising the plasma membrane, which older uncouplers such as DNP do.
